This emergency request was received in May 2006.

During the hurricanes and heavy rains that battered Honduras in November 2005, a young family’s house was severely damaged. The simple wooden structure was home to Wilma and Saul and their 3 children, Saulito, Adonis and Darin, ranging in age from 8 months to 8 years .

The house was weakened to a degree that it is unlikely to survive the next hurricane season.

The charitable organization “ Farm of the Child” , neighbor of this family, requested help from the NATO Wives Bazaar ASBL to enable this family to build a better and safer home out of concrete blocs.

The amount of 4 000 € was granted by the “NATO Wives Bazaar ASBL” in June 2006 in order to support the construction of the entire house (2 000 € as an Emergency Request and 2 000 € as a Special Project).

The building of the house started in July 2006. Here are the first shots taken on site.

Hopefully, the family should be settled in their new home before the next hurricane season.....
